Aims and Scope
Aims
Conference Proceedings in Science and Management (CPSM) gives scholarly conferences a permanent, citable, open-access record of their papers, published to the same editorial and ethical standards whatever the size or location of the conference. Each volume carries the papers of one conference.
Peer review is conducted by the conference organizing committee under standards set by the series, independently cross-checked by the CPSM Editorial Advisory Board and the Editor-in-Chief, who hold final authority over acceptance. The full process is on the Peer Review Process page.
CPSM accepts proposals from conference organizing committees. It does not accept papers from individual authors outside a conference. Authors whose papers are to appear in a CPSM volume submit through their conference, under the direction of its volume editors.
Disciplines in Scope
- Engineering and applied sciences: mechanical, civil, electrical, electronic, industrial, materials, and manufacturing engineering
- Computing and data science: computer science, information technology, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity
- Physical, chemical, and mathematical sciences: theoretical and applied physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, and operations research
- Environmental, agricultural, and earth sciences: environmental engineering, sustainability studies, agricultural technology, and earth and atmospheric sciences
- Business, economics, and management: operations and supply chain management, finance, marketing, organizational behavior, and entrepreneurship
- Education: engineering and management education, pedagogy, and higher-education research
- Architecture, planning, and design: urban planning, architectural research, and design studies
A conference may span several of these areas. Papers inside a volume are grouped into topic sections chosen with the volume editors.
Disciplines Out of Scope
CPSM does not publish proceedings of medical, clinical, dental, pharmaceutical, or veterinary conferences, because the series does not hold the clinical expertise or the regulatory checks that such work needs. It also does not publish proceedings in the humanities, fine arts, religious studies, or theology.
The line is drawn by method, not by application. A paper that applies engineering, computing, or data science to a health problem, such as a diagnostic imaging model or a hospital logistics study, is in scope. A paper that reports clinical outcomes in patients is not.
Other Grounds for Declining a Conference
Whatever the discipline, CPSM does not publish proceedings of a conference that:
- does not run independent peer review meeting the series minimum;
- exists mainly for commercial promotion rather than scholarly exchange;
- guarantees publication to authors in return for registration or payment; or
- will not commit in writing to the ethical standards of the series.
Language
CPSM publishes in English only. Titles, abstracts, and full texts must be in clear academic English. Conferences held in another working language are welcome, provided the papers submitted for the volume are written or professionally translated into English before peer review.
