Governance and Editorial Independence
Editorial authority rests with the Editor-in-Chief, who is appointed by the publisher. Because the Editor-in-Chief is also the proprietor of the publisher, the series separates the two roles in three ways.
First, peer review is conducted by the conference organizing committee under standards set by the series, independently cross-checked by the CPSM Editorial Advisory Board and the Editor-in-Chief, who hold final authority over acceptance. No volume is accepted on a commercial basis, and payment of charges never changes an editorial decision.
Second, the Editor-in-Chief takes no part in the handling of any conference proposed by his own employer, Sricity International University, or any conference at which he is a speaker, session chair, or organizing committee member. In those cases the Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board evaluates the proposal, conducts the cross-check, and makes the final decision, and the volume front matter records the recusal.
Third, complaints about the Editor-in-Chief or the publisher are handled by the Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board, as set out on the Complaints and Appeals page.
Funding and Revenue
CPSM is funded by article processing charges paid by the conferences it publishes. The rates are published on the Open Access and APC page and nowhere else. The series receives no subscription income, advertising income, sponsorship, government grant, or institutional subsidy.
Advertising
CPSM carries no advertising on its website, in its volumes, or in its correspondence, and accepts no paid placement, sponsored content, or commercial endorsement. If this ever changes, the policy will be published here first, and advertising will never be linked to any editorial decision.
Direct Marketing
CPSM does not send bulk or unsolicited email to authors or conference organizers and does not buy or use mailing lists. Calls for conference proposals are published on the Announcements page. Correspondence from the series comes only from the shoramedits.com domain, and is sent in reply to an inquiry, a proposal, or an existing working relationship.
CPSM pays no finder's fee, referral commission, or other reward to any person or agent for bringing conferences, authors, or papers to the series. Anyone claiming to act as an agent of CPSM should be reported to info@shoramedits.com.
Publisher Conflicts of Interest
Where SHORAM Editorial Services has any prior relationship with a proposed conference or its host institution, such as earlier editing or consultancy work, the relationship is declared at the proposal stage and recorded in the volume file. Authors who have used SHORAM's manuscript editing services are handled by the Chair of the Editorial Advisory Board, not by the Editor-in-Chief.
