Abstract

Digital platform ecosystems are being rapidly reshaped by the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, and this is changing how modern businesses operate. This study examines, through an empirical lens, the role of deep learning-based AI in digital platforms in improving sustainable business outcomes from economic, environmental, and social perspectives. It applies a hybrid deep learning framework to multi-source platform data to examine the relationship between AI capability, ecosystem collaboration, and sustainability outcomes. The results show that platforms with AI-based features substantially improve operational efficiency, value co-creation, and innovation performance. Other platform qualities, such as data sharing, complementarity, and modularity, are also important for the development of sustainable business models. The study contributes an integrated deep learning model for assessing sustainability performance in platform ecosystems. The findings offer practical recommendations for businesses that adopt AI-powered platforms to gain a competitive edge and maintain sustainability.
